The importance of play in learning

opal book studyI had no idea that my dear friend Susan MacKay (who is also my daughter’s teacher – that’s Olive in the green shirt) has been blogging about her work at Opal School and her thoughts about education and play until I stumbled on it looking at some pictures from our weekend family camp.  I think that readers of this blog might enjoy her fresh perspective – you might start at this entry (about historical inquiry) or just take a look at whatever is at the top of her page.

The work of Opal School is highlighted during their summer symposium:  highly recommended!
