While we all know that much thought must go into pairing the main course with the right wine (or, here in the yeasty Northwest, beer), Woody Holton’s excellent program November 7 suggested a few provocative pairings for the classroom. During the program, he had us read two abigail-adams-letters against each other. What did we notice in comparing the two? He also suggested the power of reading the Pennsylvania Constitution of 1776 against the US Constitution to notice differences in governmental structure.
What success have you had in these pairings? What others have you found catalytic?
